Alpha Course

The Alpha Course, a practical exploration of Christianity, has spread very rapidly around the world from its beginnings in England and has proved to be of great interest to both long-time churchgoers and also to skeptical people who have serious questions about the faith.

The 10-week course is presented in a series of talks on DVD dealing with topics such as “Why Did Jesus Have to Die?”, “How Does God Guide Us?” and “How Can I Be Filled with the Holy Spirit?”

Acton Congregational Church runs one course each year, providing a free buffet dinner to begin each week’s class and an opportunity to discuss each topic in a friendly, un-pressured small group setting. In the middle of each course is a day and a half “weekend away” in nearby Weston, which gives participants a chance to explore some topics in greater depth. More details are provided at free informational dinners that precede each course.
