Gospel means “good news.” This is the good news---Jesus is Risen! He’s done for us what we can’t do for ourselves. His free gift means abundant life not just for the future, but now. Faith grafts us into God and changes everything.

One person shared this story. With a mortgage to pay and kids nearing college, his company’s downsizing couldn’t have come at a worse time. He had never faced a financial crisis like this before. The family had to pull together and make tough economic decisions. It would have been easy and understandable to withhold their pledge, but they stepped out in faith that God would provide for them. Weekly worship and prayer became their lifeline and their offering was their way to grab hold of God’s promise. This lifted their worries and blessed them with a profound sense of peace. Week to week they saw God meeting their need in surprising ways. Faith kept the family together and they felt God carry them into their future. Today, this family is on their feet with a deeper faith and trust in God. Your stewardship team is excited to share stories like this during our annual appeal.

Beginning in October, Sunday to Sunday, we’ll highlight a specific ministry. Each week you’ll help us add foliage to a “Thanksgiving Tree” in our sanctuary to represent our many blessings. Here are important dates to remember:

Oct. 2: Thanksgiving Tree Set Up
Oct. 9th: Cornerstone Thrift Shop
Oct. 16th: Missions and Outreach (Roll Call/Budget Meeting)
October 23rd: Prayer Shawl Ministry
October 30th: Christian Education (Faith Pledge Sunday)
Nov. 6th: Music Ministry
Nov. 13th Stephen Ministry
Nov. 20th: Youth Ministry

As with last year, we will be pledging yearly to Missions and Outreach. There will be one pledge card with a space for each pledge. (For instructions, click here.) Please be in prayer about your pledge, be open to the Holy Spirit’s direction, and prepare for pledging together on Sunday, October 30th at either service.
