JHYF
Junior High Youth Fellowship (JHYF) meets on Sunday nights at
5:00 at the church. Led by the youth minister and a team of dedicated
and talented volunteer advisors, JHYF is a place where the enthusiasm
and chaos of junior-high aged youth is harnessed for fun, fellowship,
and spiritual learning and growth.
Special events include a winter retreat, pizza and movie night, bowling; a visit to the local MegaMaze; a lock-in or two; laser-tag, our annual mall scavenger hunt, ice cream fellowships, and mission opportunities that include CROP Walk and Hike for Hope.
SHYF
Senior High Youth Fellowship (SHYF) meets on Sunday nights from
7:00 to 9:00 at the church. SHYF is lead by a board of youth in conjunction
with the youth minister and a team of dedicated and talented volunteer
advisors, who are not their parents. Evening programs typically start with a
spirited game or two, sometimes a little singing, followed by a topical
program led by both youth and advisors - involving presentation, multimedia,
possible small-group discussions, and sometimes a guest speaker. The evening
is capped off with a special time of music and readings (Christian and
secular), sharing and prayer, and closing prayer.
Retreats include: a Fall retreat down in Cape Cod, our winter "Owl’s
Nest" retreat at Bluewater Farm Lodge in Andover, NH with one day of skiing at Mt. Sunapee.
"LinX"
"LinX" is our youth discipleship group that stands for "Life in Christ." The group meets Wednesday nights at 7 PM during the school year. The focus of the group is to learn what it means to be a disciple of Christ that involves daily prayer and reflection, Scripture reading and discussion with the group, accountability, and outreach. Of course, there are many different fellowship opportunities that include a day trip into Boston.
College Ministry
The summer and winter breaks are a great time for students to come back to the area and catch up with one another by sharing stories and reflecting on their year. Summer is also the perfect time for the group as a whole to serve both the local and larger community. In the past few years, the ACC college group has focussed on mission work. Through Habitat for Humanity, the group has helped build houses in Acton, MA; York, PA; and Salem County, NJ.
