Teaching Opportunities

Preschool and Kindergarten

A team of 3-4 teachers is needed for each Preschool and Kindergarten class. The team arranges their personal schedules to allow them to rotate teaching responsibilities throughout the year. The team communicates with and supports one another on a frequent and consistent basis.

First Through Sixth Grade

The Workshop Rotation Model in the older grades provides opportunities for parents and members of the congregation to share their skills and interests, and it easily accommodates busy and seasonal schedules. Shepherds are adults and strong teenagers (9th grade and older) who provide a safe and welcoming church experience for the children. They serve as mentors, teachers, guides and friends. Shepherds are the familiar faces the 1st - 6th graders see on Sunday morning as they rotate between different Workshops during the month. Adult Shepherds teach foundational Christian truths and bible skills on Communion Sundays. A team of teen Shepherds guide the class to their assigned Workshops. They take the attendance, collect the offering and participate by assisting the Workshop Leader. Adult and teen Shepherds are responsible for redirecting any disruptive behavior, allowing the Workshop Leader to focus entirely on their teaching. The Shepherds are encouraged to build strong relationships with their students, becoming aware of their individual needs, learning style and Workshop favorites, as well as their prayer concerns. Other responsibilities within each Shepherd team include communicating with parents, acknowledging birthdays and student's joys and concerns.

Junior High

A team of 3-4 teachers is needed for the Junior High class. The team arranges their personal schedules to allow them to rotate teaching responsibilities throughout the year. The team communicates with and supports one another on a frequent and consistent basis.

Workshop Rotation Leaders match their gifts, talents and experience with a particular area of interest. They teach the same lesson to a different age group each week for 2-4 consecutive weeks, depending on the number of rotations assigned for each unit. Workshop Leaders teach in the following learning centers:

Food (Good News Café)
Drama (Galilee Productions)
Art (Gideon's Art Gallery)
Music (Grace Notes)
Large body movement and activities (God's Playground)
Missions and Outreach (Goodwill Missions)
