Community Supper Volunteers

Starting in October ACC will begin a new exciting, action-oriented mission opportunity. We will be joining the Mt. Calvary Community Supper served at Mt. Calvary Lutheran Church in Acton every Wednesday. Each week over 100 people from Acton and neighboring communities gather together to receive a free meal and share fellowship with their neighbors.

The goal of the Community Supper is to “alleviate hunger and social isolation in our community.” It is a happy weekly event for volunteers, young and old, who join together to cook and serve this meal. It is heartwarming to see the enjoyment of the guests as they share a warm meal and a sense community spirit with others. This weekly free meal can make a big difference for those with food insecurity and can lift the spirits of those who live and eat alone regularly. Friendships are formed by many, guests and volunteers alike. Join us and be part of this caring mission! We at ACC are hoping to form a group to provide the meal for 100 people the first Wednesday of each month.

Volunteers, age 16 and up, may choose from a variety of tasks: cooks, servers, clean-up crew. You can volunteer for the task of your choice for approximately two hours shifts. One hour or four hour shifts are also available. You may sign up for a permanent position or on a one-time basis. Please peruse the available opportunities and sign up on our spreadsheet.
