Special Worship Services

During the course of the church year, several special worship service and events connected with our Sunday morning worship services are celebrated.

Advent and Christmas

 

Christmas Eve

A special children's service designed for younger children and their families will be held at 5 PM on December 24.  Traditional Christmas services of lessons and carols take place at 8 PM and 10 PM in the Sanctuary, which is decorated for the season.  The candlelight services include a meditation and carols by choirs and soloists.

Annual Holiday Hymn Sing

Our holiday hymn sing will be held on New Years Eve Day, December 31 at 11:15 AM.  Members and friends are invited to request their favorite Christmas hymns be sung by the congregation.

 

Lent and Easter

Ash Wednesday

An Ash Wednesday Worship Service will be held on February 14, 2018 at 7 PM.  The Imposition of Ashes will be available to all who desire it.

Palm Sunday

On March 25, 2018 the Sunday before Easter, services will be held at 9:15 AM and 11:15 AM.  The services remind us of Jesus' triumphant entry into Jerusalem.

Maundy Thursday

On Maundy Thursday, March 29, 2018, we celebrate our special worship service at 8:00 PM; it follows the ancient Order of Tenebrae.  In remembrance of the Last Supper, we share Holy Communion.

Easter

On April 1, 2018, our traditional Easter Sunday services will be held at 9:15 AM and 11:15 AM. Special music and flowers enhance this great celebration of Christ's Resurrection.  Children are welcome at all services.

Each spring the congregation celebrates Senior Recognition Sunday to congratulate our graduating high school seniors.  

Confirmation Sunday, May 20, 2018

Each May, we celebrate Confirmation of our eighth grade class, an important step in each student's Christian walk as he or she has the opportunity to confirm what has taken place at his/her baptism.
