About the event
Join us as we gather together to seek to live God's love through our weekly Sunday service. After worship, join us for Fellowship hour and meet new friends, discuss the service, and enjoy the day. No matter who you are, whom you love, or wherever you may be on your spiritual journey, you are welcome here. We are an Open and Affirming congregation.
This week’s Gospel tells of an unnamed woman, bent over for eighteen years—physically bound, socially isolated, and spiritually dismissed. In the synagogue, Jesus sees her, calls her forward, and declares her free. She stands tall for the first time in decades, praising God.
Not everyone rejoices. The synagogue leader protests the healing as a Sabbath violation, but Jesus reminds the crowd that God’s law is meant to bring life, not bondage. Calling her a daughter of Abraham, he restores her dignity, belonging, and freedom.
We’ll reflect on…
