Making Love Tangible, Palpable and Real by Giving

Please join us this Lenten season by giving something to those in need. As Paulo commented in his first Lenten sermon on February 18th, “Friends, instead of giving something up for Lent, take on this practice of making love tangible, palpable and real in the way you eat and drink and nurture friendships and life-giving relationships.” Alleviating local hunger insecurity would be a powerful way to answer that call to action to make love tangible. We have collaborated with the Acton Food Pantry, that will be receiving our donations, to create an ACC Lenten Food Drive. Food can be dropped off on Sundays before Worship, weekdays while the Church Offices are open, or at our next Lenten Gathering (March 13th, 6:30 pm held here at Hartman Hall). Acton Food Panty also allows donation through their Amazon Wish List, that you may access by scanning the QR code below. All donations due before April 1, 2024. Please find below the suggested item donation list.

More about the Acton Food Panty

Since 1984, the Acton Food Pantry has been fighting food insecurity in around Acton.  The AFP services are free and open to anyone in need from the towns of Acton, Boxborough, Carlisle, Concord, Littleton, Maynard, Westford, and Stow.  Sustainability of its operation is a primary goal, as the Acton Food Pantry continues to serve an average of over 250 households per week. According to their website, The Acton Community Supper and Food Pantry, Inc. "has an operating budget of about $125,000 per year".  Their financial support is sustained through donations of funds and food from individual donors, supporting businesses, religious institutions, and community organizations.  They also work in partnership with the Greater Boston Food Bank.
